It was announced in Tuesday's budget that Wellington would get one of 24 new centres, along with Nyngan, Narromine and Walgett in western NSW.
Dubbo MP Troy Grant said the new centre, which replaces the Roads and Maritime Services in towns, would be an important tool for the community.
“When the government initially announced it, it was met with suspicion but the communities that have them are coming to love them,” Mr Grant said.
The new centre will incorporate the Roads and Maritime Services and also offers assistance for relating to Fair Trading, Births, Deaths and Marriages, Housing NSW, Office of State Revenue and NSW Seniors Cards.
Dubbo has had a Service NSW since 2013 and Minister for Finance, Services and Property Victor Dominello said the government was committed to a widespread roll-out of the provider.
“Service NSW has dramatically changed the way that people interact with government, offering a new customer first approach,” Mr Dominello said.
“People simply love the service provided, and now even more regional communities will benefit.
“Gone are the days of excessive paperwork, copious phone numbers and duplication.
“Service NSW has transformed the customer experience by providing them with a 21st century one-stop shop service with access to over 970 transactions.”
