Mr Brebner visited the Wellington shire recently in an effort to obtain stockists for his book.
The Burrendong Dam Kiosk, Cactus Café and Gallery, Wellington Newsagency and the Riverside Caravan Park as well as the Mitchell Inn Hotel at Geurie all became stockists in a venture Mr Brebner considers successful.
The paddle from Wellington to Narromine started six years ago runs annually over five days in November.
Currently the WomDomNom has to purchase six kayaks for use during the paddle and as well are hoping to complete some work on the Macquarie River.
“We need to raise about $10,000.00 and Barry has allowed us the use of his book to help raise funds,” Mr Mackay said.
Workers on the Wallaby is a book of eleven factual and personal stories of people’s adventures as they have travelled Australia.
President of the WomDomNom Andrew Mackay said the 2016 paddle saw 120 paddlers take part and he hopes to see 200 paddlers take to the river in Wellington this year.
“This paddle is great for the economy of the district especially the three locations involved.”
Mr Brebner thanked the Wellington businesses for becoming stockists and advised people to purchase a copy to support the paddle.
