What’s New
War Cry is Wilbur Smith’s latest novel in his much-loved Courtney series, where he introduces us to the bravest new member of the famed family, Saffron Courtney. Saffron grows up on a sprawling Kenyan estate, under the watchful eye of her father, prominent businessman and distinguished war veteran Leon Courtney. Her childhood is idyllic, until a family tragedy forces her to grow up much faster than necessary. Her thirst for knowledge and adventure leads her to England, where she is drawn into the gathering storm leading up to World War II. There she meets Gerhard von Meerbach the privileged heir to an industrial fortune, and vocal supporter of the Nazi Party. As the Second World War looms over them all Saffron and Gerhard’s worlds collide – but will there be more to unite them than tear them apart?
My Knitted Doll is full of patterns to make 12 adorable dolls and over 50 garments and accessories. Each doll has their own personality style – whether it’s Faye with her cute bunny ear hat and cosy boots or Jane with her chic beret and Breton top – including step-by-step instructions there is a doll to suit everyone.
