Shortly after 5pm a Mazda was travelling west along Henry Parkes Way about 20 kilometres from Parkes.
The vehicle appears to have left the road and struck a tree.
A 19-year-old woman died at the scene while three other women, two aged 19 and the other aged 21, received a variety of injuries.
Police from Lachlan Local Area Command and the Metropolitan Crash Investigation Unit attended along with NSW Ambulance paramedics; who treated the three injured women.
Two of the injured were conveyed by road to Orange Base Hospital while one was airlifted to the same hospital. All were later found to have sustained minor injuries during the crash.
Police and investigators from Parkes established a crime scene at the location and continue with their investigation into the cause of the crash.
A report will be prepared for the information of the Coroner outlining the full circumstances surrounding the death.
