Local Buddhist nun Choden Thubten said the classes, that will occur weekly, are the newest addition to several others that are already run around town.
“There have been lessons at Maranatha for about three years and we have been delivering other ongoing lessons for over two years,” she said.
Ms Thubten said being NSW Health qualified can reassure students they are receiving proper training.
“I thought it would be good to have a specialised program that focuses on energy flow – or ‘qi’.”

Ms Thubten said the classes are a gentle, non-competitive form of exercise that suits younger students through to older students.
“You tune into your own capacity and work with that.
“It is a very beautiful and graceful form of exercise. It focuses on the breath,” she said.
“Everyone is welcome to attend classes, all we ask for is a $5 donation to the centre.
“Come along, join in with the group and meet some new friends – if you don’t already know everyone there,” Ms Thubten said
