TAFE NSW Dubbo Student Engagement Officer Brigid Palin said the scholarships would help students with costs associated with their training, fees and learning resources.
“These scholarships can make the world of difference for these students – some of which are single parents that need to travel long distances to attend classes,” she said.
“All of the recipients were absolutely thrilled to get this financial support and we must pay tribute to Macquarie Credit Union who have generously donated more than 25 of these scholarships over the past few years to help TAFE NSW students in western NSW.”
This year’s scholarship recipients include Cert III Individual Support student Lisa Cooper.
“Selecting this year’s winners was an enormous task because we had a record 147 students apply for this funding,” Ms Palin added.
Macquarie Credit Union General Manager Matthew Bow said he was thrilled to see the scholarship program making such a difference for students.
“A good education is paramount in today’s society, and we are very excited to partner with TAFE NSW to help change lives by allowing students to complete their studies and achieve success in their chosen careers,” he said.
