To be successful under the second round of funding, applicants must show their work benefits the community, and be based in the local government area.
Council’s Community Services Manager Business Support Jamie Angus said previous recipients included charitable, health, animal wellbeing, and environmental organisations, as well as special interest groups.
“Council dedicates $30,000 to the Community Financial Assistance Program each year to help ease the burden of not-for-profit organisations that contribute to our community,” Mr Angus said.
“The funding often provides a much-needed boost to help community groups complete a project or pay for resources that help them deliver valued activities and services to the people of the Dubbo Regional Council local government area.”
Those part of a non-for-profit group in Wellington or Dubbo were encouraged to apply, Mr Angus said.
Applications close 5pm, Friday March 3. Successful applicants will be determined by council at the meeting on March 27.
Application forms are available from the council offices in Wellington or Dubbo, or online at www.dubbo.nsw.gov.au/financial-grants.
