Visitors can climb aboard the new Savannah Safari truck and experience a unique guided tour among the animals on the African savannah.
Just like on safari!
“The Savannah Safari is a unique opportunity to see some of our African animals from our safari truck, a great experience for the whole family,” keeper Lachlan McFeeters said.
The Savannah Safari is open daily across the summer school holidays and costs $10 per adult and $5 per child, in addition to zoo admission. Tickets are available at the Zoo’s ticketing counter on arrival.
“While at the zoo this summer be sure to see the free African Wild Dog feed at 2:20pm daily, where 11 pups born in late August can be spotted on exhibit at feeding time with the adults,” Mr McFeeters said.
The male Asian elephant born in early November has been named, ‘Sabai’ meaning peaceful, happiness, relaxed or comfortable in Thai, and is on exhibit with his mother Thong Dee from 10am-2pm daily.
