The Ladies’ 12 Hole Summer Competition commences today with an 8am start, if you wish to play earlier please arrange a partner.
Sympathies
Our sympathies are extended to Pattie Stein's family on her recent passing.
Pattie left Wellington some 8 years ago to be with family in Brisbane after enjoying many wonderful years on the golf course before retiring from the game.
The family wish to invite Pattie's old golfing friends to join them for a Memorial Morning Tea at the Golf Club this Saturday 3rd December at 11.30am.
Club's AGM and Presentation
It is hoped all members will be attending the Club's Annual General Meeting this Saturday night at 6pm followed by the 2016 Presentation. There will be "finger food" served after all the formalities are completed, so everyone can sit back, relax, converse about the year just gone, their game on the day or just generally catch up for a chat.
MEN’S GOLF
Wellington golf club had a big turn out last Saturday with 50 golfers hitting the fairways and enjoying the sunny conditions.
The annual general meeting and presentation night are to be held this Saturday night from 6.30pm, so come in out and have your say in the running of the golf club for 2017.
Last Saturday's event was an Individual Stableford.
This Saturday's events are the December monthly medals in A and B grades plus round 1 of the Wellington Soldiers Memorial club point score as well as round 1 of the John Gersbach putting competition plus round 2 of the KEIRLE'S Pharmacy summer competition as well as the Finals of the Harold Baker Bookmaking sponsored Matchplay Championships with the Old Masters to do the starting.
The final of the Kiss Trophy has been played with Neil Hollow taking the trophy with a run over Garth Watts and many thanks to the Kiss family for there support of this event for many years.
A grade matchplay semifinals saw Robert Baker defeat Malcolm Payne and Gary Cusack defeated James Cusack meaning Gary will take on Robert in the final.
B grade matchplay semifinals saw Tim Parker defeat Lewis McCarthy and David Naveau defeated Luke Milgate leaving Tim to take on David in the final.
C grade saw Geoff Walker defeat Barry Jeffrey and Jack Baker defeat David Wilson leaving Geoff to take on Jack in the final.
Saturday’s Individual Stableford winner and on a count back was Brian Kiss who put together a great round of golf to finish with 40pts. Runner-up with 40pts as well was Gary McNaughton.
Ball competition winners were; Brian Kiss 40pts, Gary McNaughton 40pts, David Wilson 39pts, David Seers 39pts, Tim Parker 38pts, Peter Cornish 37pts, John Donnelly 37pts, Garth Watts 37pts, S Matheson 37pts and Ron Cowan 36pts.
Ron Stubblefield Toyota terrific tee shot on the 3rd Gary Cusack, on the 8th Gary McNaughton, on the 14th Kevin Reid, on the 16th David Seers.
Gersbach’s Mechanical nearest the pin in 2 shots on the 15th hole was won by Kurt Cusack. McDonald's biggest whack in A grade went to Lewis Payne and in B grade it was Liam Brien.
Brent's NFI award and this week a count forward was needed to find the winner and after a long look Jim Armstrong was declared the winner with 24pts.
Round 1 of the KEIRLE'S Pharmacy summer competition saw The Bye defeat the Federal Stags 8up, Printers defeated Old Masters 3up, Phoenix defeated Vin Zipper 2up, Back Nine Boys defeated Puppies 2up, Maurie's Mate's defeated Mixtures 2up, Hogs defeated Montefiore's Maulers 2up, Goodsort's defeated Dirt Scoopers 1up.

Raffle winner was Peter Cornish and the lucky schooner winner was Ron Cowan.

A total of 16 bowlers were on the green last Wednesday for the Jackpot Bowls. Winners on the day were Ian Smith Jnr & Allan Manning who defeated Mo Clare & Mick Buttsworth 21 – 13 Runners up were Glen Porter & Ron Oxenham who defeated Jaden Chatfield & Barry Smith 25 – 17, other results were: Dave Wilson & Richard Carpenter def Lewis Stanley & Ray Gersbach 19 – 15, Pat Cassidy & Frank Gersbach def Don Graham and Ross Pharo 18 - 17.
Mo Clare won the Raffle and the jackpot was not won.
Jackpot Bowls are on again today (Wednesday) names in by 1pm for 1.30pm start. The jackpot now stands at $250

With three teams in the Dubbo Junior Competition and Milo T20 Blast all is looking good for the remainder of 2016.
U12A's are half way through their game against Macquarie at Rygate with the game very even.
12B's only play one day games and were beaten by RSL Colts in a close game with no result slip to hand
14B's had a good win over RSL Colts and no result slip to hand. 14's please note you have all "one day" games till Christmas plus a Bye.

Attendance at our Tuesday Point Score continues to improve with more members having their first swim of the season. Nick Knowles continued his early form by winning the 30 metre event while at her first swim of the season Brooke George took out the 50 metre event. Isiah Hill combined with Amy Ryan this week to win the Brace Relay. Bonny Sheridan & Isiah Hill won the Junior Events.
For Juniors to compete there must be a senior family club member competing. Please make an effort to be at the pool by 5.45 to enter your names & times for the first swim.
New Members are welcome, to be a Member of our Club you first have to be a member of the Wellington Soldiers Memorial Club. Membership to our Club is $2
We have use of the pool between 6pm and 7pm so members are asked to be at the Pool by 5.45pm to enter in the events or ring your entry through if you are going to be late.
The usual after swim barbecue will be hosted by members. Cost for swim only is $2 per person plus pool entry. The barbecue costs are $4 for steaks and $3 for sausages.
The Dubbo Ducks will be hosting the Clive Rootes Memorial Carnival on Wednesday Evening 30 November members interested in competing should advise Terry Dray.
We will be hosting the 2017 Western District AIF Championships in February 2017, more details will be provided at our first swim. The AIF National Championships will be held in Grafton on Saturday 18 March 2017.

Congratulations to Naylise Thompson for receiving a Dubbo Regional Council Sports Award last Friday evening in recognition of her swimming success at PSSA level, we are very proud of her achievements and congratulate her upon this award. Congratulation also to the other 7 Wellington Sports men , women volunteers and coaches who were also recognised for their efforts and achievements as well, Wellington should be very proud of these people, great to see so many rewarded for their efforts.

January 28-29 2017 at Wellington: please let Jo Clarke know if you can assist in anyway over the 2 days, and please don't forget to enter our swimmers in this fantastic event. Desperately seeking helpers this is a huge event for us, really looking for timekeepers just for a few hours.
SAVING THE DATE: the Club Christmas Party is fast approaching on Friday the 16th of Dec, we share a BBQ with salads and desserts with some novelty events in the pool.
