At Dubbo last Thursday 5050 prime cattle penned in a good quality yarding not to the standard of last week. Not all the regular buyers were operating in a cheaper market. Trade young cattle fell 5 cents, young feeder cattle lost 12 cents and more in places except the prime heavy weight steers which were close to firm. Restocker steers made up to 536 cents. Heavy steers dropped 10 cents, heavy heifers topped at 313 cents cows were down 10 to 18 cents.

At Dubbo on Friday 1550 store cattle penned in a very good quality yarding with some top lines of good quality steers and heifers along with some outstanding runs of cows and cows and calves included in the yarding was the complete dispersal of the Hearn’s Family Charolais herd from Brewarrina. Steer weaners sold from $600 to $1265 to avg $906 or 398 cents per kg. weaner heifers ranged from $510 to $1150, steer yearlings traded from $920 t0 $1320, heifer yearlings realised $1130 to $1360, PTIC heifers $1390 to $1760. PTIC cows sold from $1155 to $1800, cows and calves ranged from $1350 to $2620 for a pen of Angus on their third calf. Unjoined cows traded from $1110 to $1600.
Monday at Dubbo 18475 lambs penned in a mostly good quality yarding. Processor light lambs fell $5, trade weights rose $1 to $3 with only a few heavy weights topping a t $146. Trade old lambs sold from $100 to $138, heavy old lambs gained $10, Merino lambs were firm to $2 dearer with trade weights ranging from $96 to $132, restockers paid to $114 and hoggets reached $116. First x ewes hoggets sold to restockers for $162.
Quotations: light young lamb $82 to $110, medium young lamb $92 to $130, heavy young lamb $110 to $133, supermarket young lamb $130 to $146, light lamb $51 to $100, medium lamb $88 to $125, heavy lamb $125 to $138, supermarket lamb $125 to $158, export lambs $158 to $177.
5630 mutton penned in a good quality yarding with most grades $4 to $7 dearer.
