The area includes about 45 clubs within a region bounded by Warren, Coonamble, Coonabarabran, Mudgee, Bathurst, Cowra, Condobolin and West Wyalong.
“We have it every year at Wellington because it’s so central for the Western Districts clubs,” president Anne Coates said.
The Cowra-based president would welcome more members.
“We’d love to see more women take up golf in the district,” Coates said.
“That’s the challenge for all clubs in NSW, not just Western Districts.
“Every club is having problems getting young players because of time, everyone is time poor.”
Coates said a highlight for the year had been their tournament, hosted by Parkes.
“It was a good concept - we did it as a shotgun start, twice a day and it worked really well,” she said.
“And we had about 180 players so it was a really good tournament and Parkes hosted it extremely well.”
