Dreamtime Tuka’s new bush plum crumble delicacy will be on offer to Qantas passengers from October 27.
The contract is another step for the business founded by Herb Smith that became the first stand-alone Aboriginal company to have a product – its lemon myrtle slice – served by the airline.
The Dreamtime Tuka managing director reports receiving a flood of phone calls about his first release.
“I was receiving and I still am up to 60 to 70 calls per week from passengers getting off the plane and taking the time to ring me, to congratulate the company, to indicate they love the flavour of the slice,” Mr Smith said.
Qantas head of product and service delivery Helen Gray said Qantas was proud to support businesses like Dreamtime Tuka.
“We had a fantastic response from customers to Herb’s lemon myrtle and coconut slice so we’re delighted to be able to offer his new crumble slice,” she said.
