On Friday morning hands raced across the page during the second English paper.
Wellington High students doing the advanced English course told of writing furiously to show what they know and to beat the clock.
“It was okay, but a lot of writing,” Melanie Peschka said.
“Three essays in two hours, that’s a lot of writing.”
Tara Grasnick said she had not stressed before and she was not about to stress after.
“It was quite good, I was expecting it to be harder,” she said.
Brodie Davis was upbeat after the time was up.
“Considering I have no interest in English, I quite enjoyed that exam,” he said.
“It was a fun experience, after the first five minutes I found it one of the most enjoyable.”
English is important to Hannah Wilson - she wants to study creative writing.
“It was better than my trial (exam) think,” she said.
“English is definitely my most nerve-racking exam because it affects me the most.
“I feel kind of chilled about the rest.”
The HSC exams will finish on November 4.
