At Dubbo last Thursday 1990 prime cattle penned in a mostly good quality yarding, with restockers trying to buy suitable lines. Trade young cattle were firm to 4 cents dearer, young feeder cattle were firm to 5 cents dearer.  Restocker young steers gained 5 to 10 cents selling from 395 cents to 462 cents per kg.  Heavy steers rose 10 cents plus, heavy heifers topped at 370 cents, plain cows lost 5 to 8 cents while the finished cows fell 1 cent.

Quotations: calves 480 to 506, steer vealers 368 to 462, heifer vealers 343 to 399, steer yearlings 340 to 424, heifer yearlings 309 to 395, heavy steers 330 to 387, bullocks 312 to 365, heavy heifers 255 to 370, light cows 220, medium cows 235 to 270, heavy cows 240 to 285, bulls 260 to 400.

At Dubbo on Friday 530 store cattle penned in a mainly good quality yarding of steers and heifers with very limited numbers of cows and calves and cows. The market was very strong. Steer and heifer weaners gained $40 plus. Weaner steers sold from $570 to $980 to avg $800 or 486 cents per kg, weaner heifers ranged from $560 to $1405 to avg $800  steer yearlings which were limited traded from $925 to $1170 to avg $1084. PTIC cows realised $1000 to $1010, cows and calves made from $1340 to $1720, unjoined cows sold from $830 to $1000.

Monday at Dubbo: 36500 lambs penned in a good quality yarding with a good selection of trade and heavy lambs along with large numbers of merinos.  Processor light lambs fell $5 to $7, trade new seasons lambs also fell $5 to $7, trade weight old lambs dropped $9 to $13, heavy weight old lambs were $6 to $8 cheaper.  Merino lambs fell $14 with the trade types ranging from $96 to $138 and the heavy end topped at $152.  Restockers paid to $120 and hoggets reached $136.

7300 mutton penned in a mostly good quality yarding with most grades losing $15 to $20.
