Nick dominated the awards ceremony, receiving awards for academic excellence, leadership and teamwork, as well as receiving recognition for the humanities, legal studies, HSIE and athletics.

The awards cap off a brilliant year for the Year 12 vice-captain, who also recently learned of his success in gaining a place at Macquarie University as part of the Global Leadership program.

Special guest speaker at the assembly was former student Khyarne Biles, now a doctor working in emergency.

Dr Biles told students the most critical lesson learned at Dubbo College was the ability to set goals and work towards achieving them.

“The number you receive at the end of your studies does not define you,” she said.

“Let your experiences and the people who inspire you along life’s journey define who you are and contribute to your future.”
