The Wellington Quota Art Exhibition is being held in conjunction with SpringFest from Friday to Sunday at the Wellington Soldiers Memorial Club.

Organisers have received 162 painting and 35 photographic entries this year.

The exhibition is set to make a musical start at its official opening on Friday at 7pm to the sounds of Bathurst Panorama Chorus.

The chorus is a contemporary four part a cappella group affiliated with Sweet Adeline’s International and has some members from as far as Mudgee, Orange, Wellington and Canowindra.     

The art exhibition gives local and regional artists and photographers the opportunity to showcase and sell their work and they will be competing for the major prizes on offer.

There will also be the opportunity for visitors to vote for their favourite artwork and photograph.

Quota encourages young people to exhibit with a section in the competition being held just for them.

Quota is committed to supporting Wellington and money raised from the exhibition will be donated to help the special needs class at the Wellington Primary School and the Wellington Men’s Shed, exhibition coordinator Leonie Parker-Lee said.

Exhibition hours are Saturday 10am to 6pm and Sunday 10am to 3pm.

Day entry is $5 for adults and $2 for school-age children, and opening night entry is $10, which includes light refreshments.
