The school was approached to perform for the Bellhaven residents following stellar performances throughout the 40th annual Wellington Eisteddfod, which wrapped up last month.
Children performed music and poetry for the residents, who had painted a large ‘Bellhaven Eisteddfod’ sign for the occasion.
“We were so happy that the school accepted our invitation,” Bellhaven’s new manager Kathryn Farlow said.

“It’s so important for the elderly to still maintain an interaction with their local community.
“Our residents were so delighted to watch the children perform.”
Wellington Public School Principal Denis Anderson reiterated the importance of maintaining community inclusion at all ages.
“It’s good for the kids because we feel as though we're a part of the Wellington community and we’re respectful of the elderly residents of the Wellington community,” Mr Anderson said.
“[Elderly residents] often look forward to having young people to come to visit and they enjoy listening to the music.”
