Local performers are tuning up for the Arts and Sculpture Festival at Hermitage Hill on September 3 and 4.

Organisers of the event are inviting people to come along and enjoy “entertainment, fun and relaxation” as well as deliciously baked food.

Mudgee-based Nigel White and Cumnock-based Don Bruce are two of the sculptors set to provide demonstrations of their work for the weekend.

There is a $5 entry fee to the event that will also feature an exhibition of painting, mosaics, woodturning, jewellery and garden sculptures and plants.

Community members are preparing to provide morning and afternoon teas and the Lions Club of Wellington will supply hot food.

“All you need to do is walk in and sit down, the entertainment, fun and relaxation of the beautiful Wellington Valley view and heritage venue of Hermitage Hill will be yours to take in and enjoy,” event coordinator Kim Kiss said.

A full program for the event will be available on the Wellington Arts website from September 2.

The festival presented by Wellington Arts also includes James Morrison and band live in concert on the evening on the evening of September 3 at the Wellington showground.

A stage will be developed in front of the grandstand, with a team from Sydney coming to do the stage, sound and lighting.

The band will be supported by local acts Tin Roof Big Band, Johnno Nicholson and Zac Goninnan. 

Hot food and beverages will be available in the refurbished grandstand function room.

Mrs Kiss has been working hard with local volunteers to pull the entire event together.

“We have had so much support from our local businesses, offering support and sponsorship,” she said.

“We have liaised with James Morrison for over a year and we are so proud to have this opportunity to secure his entire band for the night.”
