Dubbo last Thursday 4950 prime cattle penned in the largest yarding for some weeks. A good quality yarding In a very strong market. Young cattle to the trade rose 10 to 18 cents, feeder steers gained 5 cents, feeder heifers improved 12 cents, restocker steers were dearer reaching 434 cents. Heavy steers lost 10 cents, plainer conditioned cows were up by 12 cents while the properly finished cows were 6 cents dearer.

At CTLX Carcoar last Friday only 965 store cattle penned in a good quality yarding with weaners in the majority in a very strong market. Steer weaners sold from $480 to $1360 to average $878 or 412 cents per kg. weaner heifers ranged from $630 to $1190 to avg $883 or 387 cents per kg only one pen of steer yearlings which traded at $1370, heifer yearlings realised $970 to $1100 to avg $1028, two pens of PTIC heifers sold at $1520 and $1640, one pen of PTIC cows made $1625, one pen of Angus cows & calves reached $2320, a pen of unjoined cows traded at $1180
At Dubbo on Monday 33250 lambs penned in a plainer quality yarding with a larger quantity of merinos and white dorpers present. Not all the regular buyers were operating in a cheaper market. Lightweight lambs to the processors fell $8, trade weight suckers dropped $8 to $12, trade weight old lambs lost $8, heavy weight lambs were $7 to $9 cheaper. Merino lambs fell $6 to $9 with trade weights ranging from $91 to $148 and the heavy end topping at $165, hoggets reach $132 and restockers paid to $118
