Matthews fought off the elements to become ‘King of the Mountain’ for the Mt Arthur Challenge.
He ran the journey in 39min 54 sec to defeat 2014 winner Wes Gibson of Bathurst (40.16) and Mitch Essex (44.09).
Meg Reeves took the female ‘’Queen of the Mountain’’ in (45.44) ahead of Enja Priest and Bec Davis.
Mike Cooper (49.31) the male veteran, Denise Reynolds the Female veteran.
Thomas Slater visiting Wellington from England took out the Male Junior champion ( 51.07) and Maggie Smith (1.02.39)
In the 5km Wallaby run, Trevor Kratzman (26.46) took the honours Wellington’s Alistair Thompson third (28.17), Alica Ross of Orange was the female champion at (25.51), her son Lachlan (24.16) the male junior champion while Bronte Clifford (26.27) was the female junior champion with Josie Clarke right there (26.58) in second place.
