When you’re beaten 106-12 there has to be recriminations but no one could really blame the players. Wellington played 160 minutes of football together when others didn’t turn up. The same line up took part in first and reserve grade.

The match against Forbes was a farcical affair. Cowboys secretary Ray Fabar labelled it a disgrace.
“Our thank you to those players who have not supported the club. You have let down your mates and the supporters. We are very embarrassed.’’
The Magpies at home scored from the first play full back Nick Greenhalgh cantered around defenders Brodie Hodges coasted over for the first of a ht trick from there the avalanche began.
Only centre Robbie Dowton’s try on 22 minutes pleased Cowboys supporters.
The Forbes forward steam rolled Wellington, Traie Merritt got over twice in the first half.
At 60-6 Matt Molloy was enjoying the cut and thrust to grab a trifecta.
When it got to 80-6 Robbie Dowton did manage to find space and scored the Cowboy’s second try but Ben McGuire’s double pushed the total to 106 the scoreboard didn’t have enough numbers to tally the full score. It could only manage 99.
In the end Forbes had not raised a sweat but Wellington who had played two full matches together had the humour to accept it.
