In the cold late afternoon in the bush three Labor volunteers have been there from the opening of the Wellington Scout Hall polling centre at 8am.
Patrick Bourke who has handed Labor material for 8 federal elections senses people are wanting change but he wondered how far they will go.
''People usually push us our away but this year they are actually taking out our cards and looking at us.

Stuart Town is a village between Wellington and Orange and famous for the story of one of Australia's great poets and his story the Man from Ironbark.
One said they were voting because they had to. When we asked if there was not compulsory voting they said ''We wouldnt vote, its a chore.''
But Mark McLean who come hundreds of kilometres to see his girl friend said he wanted to vote because it was his democrat right.
''I am voting absentee so I will just have to vote for who I see on the ballot paper because I have forgotten who any of them are but at least I get to vote.''

The electorate of Calare
Calare covers an area from Lithgow in the east to Eugowra in the west, Wellington and Mid-Western Regional Councils in the north to Blayney Shire Council and Oberon Council in the south.
The main industries and products associated with the area are mining, mixed farming, fruit, timber, vineyards, meat and wool processing, transport, tourism, light engineering, white goods manufacturing, tertiary education services, agricultural and pastoral support.
