Committee secretary and Mt Arthur Trust member Erica Baigent said the challenge provided people with the opportunity to head outdoors and take in some fantastic scenery while building fitness levels.
“The Mt Arthur Reserve is a truly spectacular place and the challenge is a great opportunity for people who may not think about going bushwalking in the reserve to do so,” she said.
“The cycle route through the Catombal Ranges and foothills is also picturesque and just a sample of the great cycling opportunities surrounding Wellington.”
“The interest we have received this year has already been very positive, but I would encourage people thinking about entering to do so before June 30 to avoid paying a late registration fee.
“It’s so easy to enter, all you have to do is go to the challenge website, www.mtarthurchallenge.org.au, and follow the steps in the how to register section.
“This will give you the opportunity to select between the 5km Wallaby Run, the 9km Wedgetail Challenge or the 50km Limestone Ride. Simply chose which event you want to compete in, fill in your details and you will be set to take on the fun of the challenge.”
The event will be held on Sunday, July 17.
While the standard registrations close on June 30, people still have until July 13 to enter, however no late entries can be taken on the day.
