The heavily-undermanned Redbacks scored a thrilling win 27-25 over Coonabarabran in their latest match.
Coach Dave Sturman was delighted with his side's win .
"Our players really got stuck in with some strong defence and also scored some really fantastic team tries. It augers well for Trangie," he said.
Geurie crashed out to Trangie 44-0 and will face Coolah at home on Saturday afternoon.
Kenny's Excited reports there was only one game this week as under 17s had to forfeit to Dubbo due to heavy Central West representative commitments.
It was left up to the under 15s to carry the Redback flag when they ventured over to Forbes to play in some more true rugby weather than what has been experienced so far this season.
The end result however made the trip well worthwhile as the young Redbacks turned on an awesome display showing their opponents no mercy, scoring a truck load of tries.
It was almost like standing in front of a bonfire freezing your back while at the same time the heat coming off our red hot backline almost burnt your face.
Sam McCarroll and Kenny Bell both scored doubles and Allan Riley chimed in with a sweet try of his own.
But the most remarkable player of the day was Jake Davis who only signed up this week, he had never played rugby, only some rugby league at school, yet managed to bag four tries on debut.
He is no doubt a freakish talent who will make a huge difference from here on.
Another big coup for the team this week was to get Duncan McMillan signed up and back in the maroon and white. He adds a lot of grunt to the forward pack and creates a rotation for the front row.
The team now has 19 players on the books which should make them quiet a formidable side going into the back end of the season.
Wellington led Forbes 20 points to 12 at the end of the first half they then returned to the field to add another 39 points to their tally while not allowing their opposition to score at all again in the second half.
In fairness to Forbes they were short of players and without hesitation Eli, Harry, Nick, George and Sam Cosier swapped over and helped them out throughout the match. Well done to those five boys, it shows a lot of good character and rugby spirit. Final score Wellington 59, Forbes 12.
This Saturday our under 15s take on Orange Emus at 10.30am and the under 17s take on Forbes at 11.30 am at Montefiores Oval.
