As a visitor in Wellington for the Anzac Day Commemorative Service I was extremely disappointed to hear the opening remarks of your speech to the assembled crowd.
I strongly believe that your statement spoilt an otherwise moving and sacred occasion.
To politicise this solemn day of of remembrance was an affront to the memory of the Anzac;s who gave so much service in our country.
They never complained or whinged, despite the errors made by their military leaders and politicians.
They just got on with the job at hand.
I believe your grace [sic] error of judgement in making this political statement demands an apology from you to our beloved Anzacs - past and present.
Yours sincerely,
Bruce Hardy
