UPDATE 1.58pm: Ms Tidball is on her way to Moruya Hospital with a reported leg injury.
The US woman’s daughter, Anna, was able to speak to her mother from the US.
“Just spoke with my mother and she was even joking around!,” Anna said after the rescue.
“I cannot say thank-you enough to everyone who got involved; My heart feels full of love and I'm so happy my little family is reunited. Love to everyone.”
1.50pm: The Westpac Life Saver Rescue Helicopter crew has just winched Alyce Tidball to safety and she will be taken to a waiting NSW Ambulance crew on Araluen Rd, west of Moruya.
Helicopter CEO Stephen Leahy said Ms Tidball was “just too tired to continue walking out”.
“It was safer to winch her out and fly her back to the command post,” he said.
“She is in great spirits. She is tired, but it looking forward to being reunited with friends.”
Meanwhile, the rescue helicopter crew will have little down-time.
Mr Leahy said they would return to the Moruya base to refuel, before heading to Thredbo to help in the search for another missing bushwalker.
12.30pm: The daughter of a US woman found safe in rugged bushland west of Moruya has thanked the rescue party.
“Thank you so much,” Anna Tidball told the Bay Post/Moruya Examiner after news her mother, Alyce Tidball, had been found.
“I couldn't be more grateful for all of you over there in Australia and your community. It means the world to my family and I.”
Ms Tidball had been staying with longstanding friend, Araluen Road resident Ian Gamble.
A combined emergency services and resident crew had been searching the area since Sunday morning.
12.10PM: The daughter of a woman missing for two nights in the Deua National Park has told Sydney Morning Herald reporter Megan Levy of her relief at the news a search crew had found her mother.
“I am so relieved,” Anna Tidball said when told Alyce Tidball, 65, had been found.
Anna had previously appealed on Facebook for help in the search, which began on Sunday morning when Alyce failed to return from a bushwalk.
UPDATE 11.35AM: Rescuers report the woman can walk with assistance and will walk out of the forest area where she was found.
Police said the US national was in “reasonably good spirits”.
The 65-year-old was conscious and breathing and was able to speak to her rescuers when she was found at about 11.20am.
Police said the search was the perfect example of a multi-agency response, which included the RFS, the SES, the VRA and the Westpac Life Saver Rescue Helicopter.
Detective Superintendent and Far South Coast Local Area Commander Peter O’Brien congratulated all involved.
Musician Jeff Aschmann’s property was used as the command centre, about 18kms west of Moruya on the Araluen Road.
