OFFICERS involved in subduing inmates after an incident at Wellington Correctional Centre last week will be nominated for bravery awards, according to the NSW minister for corrections.

David Elliott made the announcement after closed circuit television (CCTV) footage was released outlining what happened on the afternoon of Thursday, March 10.
At 3.30pm on that date officers were responding to a fire alarm and had extinguished the blaze enough to allow the inmates to be removed from the cell.
As the inmates exited, a correctional officer guided one in the direction he wanted him to go, when the other inmate began to assault the officer.
Tear gas is used by Immediate Action Team personnel.
Inmates were then restrained and handcuffed and placed on segregation.
Both inmates were seen and treated by Justice Health staff with only minor injuries. Police are investigating and there were no injuries to staff.
Mr Elliott said the video shows courage and bravery by correctional officers.
"Correctional officers are our last line of defence," Mr Elliott said.
"I telephoned the officers to thank them for their service and said the community was grateful for their work.
"I will be nominating all officers involved for bravery awards."
