Unfortunately for Wellington's team they were knocked out in the first round however the Dubbo teams will be back again this Saturday at 9am to continue the knockout with the final being played at 1pm in the afternoon for those interested there are some big names left and the games should be crackers one of which is young Jono Davis from Railway BC.
Sadly it wasn't a great start for the greenkeeper who arrived early on Saturday to find that our local cretins had been at work yet again (certainly no pride in themselves or this town) doing their best to damage as mush as they could around the club however now the cameras have been installed we hope their days will be numbered.
Last Wednesday we saw Mick Buttsworth and Bill Meharg win the day defeating Terry Dray and Glen porter who has taken up bowls and has taken to it like a duck to water, final score 25-8.
The Michael Smith Wrester was not won and the Jackpot remains at $300 and the Raffle winner was Bruce Howie.
In other games on the day R Carpenter, A Manning, and M Clare def K Stanley, R Wall and M Clare who played swinging lead in that game of triples in the other game R Oxenham and R Gersbach def B Howie and P Cassidy 27-12.
By the time this goes to print the next round of the Business House Bowls will have been played and the results will be in next week's bowls news.
This competition has been going from strength to strength and our thanks goes to Bunning's of Dubbo for their donations of 10 umbrellas which will be given out as prizes. These sponsors have made a wonderful contribution to this event and our thanks goes to them all particularly Woolworths who have donated the weekly prize over the 10-week competition.
Hope to see you all on Tuesday, Wednesday and Saturday nights for a bit of fun and a game of bowls.
See you on the greens
