"If it wasn't for my business partner having tools as well, we would have to fold," Two Old Blokes home maintenance business owner Wayne Barrett said.
Mr Barrett had been renovating a house on Zouch Street and when he arrived at his workplace, thieves had taken everything down to the nails and sealant.
"Every single thing I've ever owned in my life has been stolen," he said. "Power tools, whole boxes of tools, some of which were my father's. I don't care about the cost, but I want them back; it's the sentimental value."
The tools were in grey boxes with orange handles. The thieves also stole a full shower recess and a new bathtub with chrome claw feet.
"It would have taken three blokes to lift the bathtub," Mr Barrett said. "They could be no lower than a snake, I thought a snake was low, but that person is lower."
Two Old Blokes is a new business which began last July when Wayne Barrett and his mate Charlie Watson decided to get out of truck driving.
Mr Barrett said they couldn't have been happier, taking great pride in their work. His mate Charlie was also gutted.
The pair are both fathers who are now under pressure to build their business back up and are putting out a $100 reward to anyone who can give information that will lead to an arrest.
"Really, I am angry, I have lived in this town for eight years and nobody has a problem with me," Mr Barrett said, adding that despite the low act of a minority, the community had been helpful, spreading the word on social media.
"Everybody has been really supportive and I don't know half of them. I love Wellington, this is where I'll die. I have never met better people than in Wellington," he said.
He believes someone will know who took his things and he is asking people to come forward and tell the police or ring Crimestoppers on 1800 333 000.
