Now on Saturday a group of passionate locals will be having a car show from 10am at Griffo's Burrendong Hotel to raise funds.
"We're grandparents and we have no kids to look after so we see it as a little bit of help and resource with education and leisure and a great way to start it," Russell and Christine Millard said of their decision to raise money for the Community Children's Charity Fund.
They said the charity will benefit children from Mumbil and the broader community.
We're throwing a Christmas party at the end of the year and everybody gets presents and feels the same, and we'll grow from that."
Owners of the Griffo's Burrendong Hotel, Darryl and Carol Griffiths will also be raising funds along with their mate "Hillbilly" Jeff.
They bought a car for the Variety Bash and and through a series of events in the future they hope to raise enough money to take part in the rally next August.
Everyone is invited to come along to the fundraiser and see the Variety Bash car next to the Burrendong Hotel as well as the many other cars on display.
