With nearly 2000 entries for the dance section, the Wellington Eisteddfod had dance students travelling from Sydney, Cowra and hundreds from Orange.

The dance section has always been the largest part of the eisteddfod and in its 39th year Swift Street was parked out as early as 7am in what has been a boost for business and tourism in the town.
Committee members praised the tireless work of volunteers and the canteen, adding that visitors always loved to come to Wellington, calling it "the friendly eisteddfod".
Orange dance teacher Lindsay Punch, of Central West Performing Arts, said her school had been coming to Wellington for 20 years and this weekend had 120 students performing.
"It is a chance to perform and take a step up themselves because they put their efforts into perfecting something and if they don't get out there they won't have that challenge," she said.
The dance section finishes on August 9, and will be followed by the vocal and instrumental section.
