Forbes jockey Catherine Newcombe and Siderlite were slow to begin from a wide gate but slowly tracked around the field and down the straight zoomed into connection to run away with a two-and-a-half-length victory.
"Probably the wide barrier draw did help us. Also the drop in class and the mare really went well," he said.
"I have been trying to offer excuses why she couldn't win races but today was just too good."
Punters bet $4.60 for the local galloper which beat Infour it and Princess Bea to the line.
McCarney was also pleased with the big run by Ready To Provide in the opening race.
It finished second after again drawing a wide gate.
In the feature race local mare Godliness proved it was one of the most consistent gallopers in the Central West after finishing a strong second behind The Brown One ($8). Race favourite Not A Hint ($1.70) finished outside the placings.
