We, the P&C Committee, feel that the opinions expressed in the article were not indicative of the general populace of the school, and was only representative of two or three students' parents. The voices of the other 360 students enrolled were not accurately portrayed.
Wellington High School has an open-door policy in regards to the concerns of any and all students, parents and caregivers, and all concerns are seriously investigated and addressed.
Wellington High School prides itself on being a positive, caring environment, in which students and staff are fully-supported.
Students are presented with numerous opportunities to achieve, excel and experience throughout the year, including, representation in Agricultural Shows, Chess Clubs, various sporting teams, debating, writing competitions, trips to America, China, and Sydney for theatre productions, and the list goes on.
Parents are invited to attend the whole school assemblies held every fortnight in the school hall to see the students enthusiastically present reports on their experiences in these activities and receive awards for their achievements.
The P&C welcome all parents to attend their meetings on the third Tuesday of each month at 6pm in the WHS Library.
These meetings give the school community a chance to voice their views, ask questions and learn more about what's happening at Wellington High School.
