A 5-4 vote by councillors gave CBD Beautification the go ahead but you get a feeling there is more to come.
Councillor Graham Cross moved, seconded by Cr Marcus Hanney to go ahead with the $3.5 million project funded by Cobbora Restart Fund, the vote supported by Cr Terry Dray, Cr David Grant with the Mayor Cr Rod Buhr spitting the numbers to ensure the move got over the line.
Cr’s Pip Smith, Cr Anne Jones, Cr Mark Griggs and Cr Conn voted for further consideration of the project. But indicated they wanted to the CBD plans to go ahead but in a different way.
