Wellington's Western Youth League (WYL) U14 girls travelled to Dubbo for the second round. The girls faced Dubbo in their first match and were keen to have a win.
Jacqui Ryan and Kimmy Trappett made the long trip from Bathurst after already playing for the Western Mariners that morning. The girls worked hard with no reserves and came out with a great 13-1 win.
The second game against Lachlan United saw Brianna Trappett and Tatum Roberts return from Bathurst as well, this gave the girls two reserves. Wellington started slowly but as the match went on the girls began to gel as a side. The result again was a 13-1 win.
Players showing great improvement are Sophie Everingham, Ella Gregory Bec Dutfield.
Well done girls.
Wellington WYL boys U15s played their first games as well last weekend but were not so lucky, going down to Orange 1 – 4 in the first game & also being defeated 2 – 4 by Lachlan United (Parkes/Forbes) in their second match.
The Wellington boys showed some good promise in both their games with Aiden Carr giving it everything he had up front & Anthony Aragon working hard in midfield.
Both these teams are playing at representative level in a regional comp and bringing back great results for Wellington.
Wellington will host Under 14 & Under 16 Girls Western Youth League rounds @ Pioneer Park this Sunday starting 9:00am. Some great girls soccer will be on show & our local U14 team are certain to play some entertaining football.
