I thought I grew up, I thought I learned it all
until one day I tried ICE, my life began to fall
I had everything in my sights, my future in my hands
What this drug can do to you, no one understands
It changes the way people look at you, “how can they judge they don’t know”
What it’s like for something to grab you, when it’s not something you chose
I thought I could control it, I thought I was strong
But somehow became a victim, a hypocrit, of something I knew was wrong
Slowly I began to lose everything, “ICE hadn’t caused it, it wasn’t to blame”
Cause I thought I could handle it, “I know better now, I understand”
The drug begins to blind you, it takes over your mind
But we all need to beat it, how many of us must die
If not die in spirit, we die within our minds
How many of us will be lucky, to get another chance at life
Try to see through the darkness, remember when you were clear
Cause it is the drug that gives us, this feeling that we fear
The fear will not get better, with the more drugs we have
It will only grow and multiply, and make our lives so sad
The sadness makes us think, we need it, cause without it we can’t cope
Then one day we’re at a funeral, cause one of us grabs the rope
Noone on it is truly happy, if they are it’s just a lie
Because slowly we feel it ruling us, taking over what was once our life
We get angry at everything, suddenly the drugs our bestfriend
“Is that what we want, is that what we had planned”
“Use your knowledge wisely, don’t let your lesson’s go”
“Tell someone, get some help”, “don’t let pride let you say No”
Some people have had bad life experiences, some have had great loss
But does that mean we must ruin what’s left, no matter what the cost
Sometime we took the wrong road, got lost along the track
Like when lost, we must turn around and find our journey back
Back to where we took the wrong turn, the fork within our road
Study it and carefully, find your track at birth for you was chose
You might take a couple of side streets, don’t let it fool you for the main road
Cause within the fork there’s side streets, some trick us, but don’t let ICE know,
Sometimes tiredness can mislead you, how can we make life decisions when we’re stuffed,
We all mose well be zombies, sleep walking in Hell’s dust
Do you wanna end up frozen, caught up in the ICE,
Or show yourself how much strength you have, rise above it live your life
The more we set example’s, will prevent later in life,
Us having to let our children, be the one’s left with our strife
It’s quite foolish I think, to let these lessons be lost,
Cause we learnt them and we lost things we love, no matter at the cost.
It would mean it stands for nothing, the torture we put ourselves through,
Pull yourself out be strong, “lets tell our kids what this drug can do”.
If you think you can’t be bothered, think twice and think again,
Because excuse’s only guide us, into this drug I call QUICKSAND
When slowly you start to sink, and realise your in a trap,
You see a branch, you better grab it now, or you may miss your journey back.
