A man who allegedly stole a car and crashed through a fence next to the Railway station line at Wellington was being pursued by Police at the time on Sunday afternoon.

Its understood Highway Patrol stopped its pursuit because the driver was driving in a highly dangerous manner.
The driver ran off the road, losing control and slammed into a fence. Eyewitnesses say he got out of the car and ran, police were searching for him and said they hoped to make an arrest.
The car was recovered and impounded.
The incident happened just after 1pm on Sunday. Police say they are looking for a young indigenous man who was a green shirt and with curly hair.
Meanwhile police are investigating an alleged double stabbing in Thornton St on Saturday night.
Police and emergency services attended the scene and one of the victims left the scene and attempted a drive to Dubbo for medical assistance. But police picked the driver up on the Mitchell Highway and arrested the person. Police expect to lay charges.
