winger Tjapauki Shaw opened the scoring with a brilliant run down the left but the Jets Mick Burns hit back almost straight away and only bad handling cost

them more points.

Wellington grabbed the lead again when hooker Trent Forrest burrowed through defenders at close range while Lewis Stanley added to his faultless kicking with

a sliding move to the right edges and the Cowboys were opening the gap.

Just before half time Justin Toomey White fresh from his selection for the Western Rams surged onto the ball and sailed into open territory, Cowboys 22 6 at the break.

Wellington went to sleep after the break Jets backrower Mitchell Cale strolled over while half Isaac Thompson cruised in and the buffer was 6 points.

But it was that man Toomey White again who struck on the left and theh he set up Tjapuaki Shaw's second moment.

Narromine though were far from finished Brian Richardson's double and Rob Lake's efforts exposed weaknesses in the Wellington defence and it was 34-32 with a few minutes

remaining.

But in a man of the match effort a tired Toomey White ended hometown hopes when he suckered in the Narromine defence and moved to the left and then barged his way for a narrow escape for the Cowboys.

In reserve grade Narromine beat Wellington 30-26 after the Cowboys made a big second half recovery while the Under 18 Cowboys scored another blistering win 42-10 Kotoni Staggs again dynamic with a treble in

a 10 minute episode of high class standards. The Women's side also won 50-4.`
