Mr Beh was handicapped following an accident and the money was raised to secure a mobility vehicle for his use.
Mr Beh's sister, Lorraine, and her husband Neville Gould, have thanked the community for turning out in support.
More than 160 people attended the tea.
Mr Beh said he was stunned so many people he had never met came out to help.
Wellington was a wonderful and generous community, Mrs Gould said.
