he daughters of a revered war world 2 veteran who died in 1990 of cancer are devastated.
In the week Australia commemorates our Anzacs thieves have stolen his medals.
His daughter Cathy Austin says the medals should be of no value to anybody else but her family.
‘’They are deeply sentimental value to our family because we loved dad so much and its heartbreaking part of his rich life has been taken away. We don’t care about the other things they stole from our Whiteley street home but please return the medals he so cherished’’
Edward Herbert Austin.(known as Bert) served in Lae, Papua New Guinea in 1945.
‘’We ask if the thieves would have in their heart to quietly return to the soldiers club or to the place where they stole them from.’’
‘’They were in bright orange velvet jewel box and we are now missing an important part of dad’s life’’
Mr Austin’s name is engraved on the back of the medals.
