"In the old days the old hall in the bush would have alternate dances every month," organiser Lindy Whale said.
"They were great social gatherings and full of fun and laughter.
"The Gollan Anzac Commemorative Ball will celebrate that history and also bring home family and friends.
"We have a small committee of six ladies but together with the Aussie Catering Group in Gulgong, who have given us an awesome deal, they are making some scrumptious entrees and supper to sell. The crowd will be wonderfully catered for," Anna Shearman said.
Mrs Whale said family names like The Neys, Whales, Carr's , Lockey's, Yeo's, Hollow's would come home to Gollan.
"About 216 people will fill the marquee out here. We're so proud. It's a feather in the cap for such a little place," she said.
"Money raised will go to the restoration of our Gollan war monument."
The Anzac Day commemoration at the Gollan Hall will feature Trevor Munro, the writer of Wellington's finest book.
