The Wellington Bowling Club would like to take this opportunity to pass on our sympathy to Leonie Darby and her family on the loss of Roger whose funeral was on Monday of this week. Roger was a great bowler and member and will be missed by everyone at the club.

Wednesday bowls were won by Jason (Hurricane) Cornish along with Bob Wilson defeating Pat Cassidy and Richard Carpenter with a score of 32-8 and the runners-up were Greg Whiteman, Bill Meharg defeated Jack Collard, Ray Gerbach 31-8. In the other matches: Don Graham and Michael Buttsworth defeated Dave Stace and Brian Howie 22-10, Keith O'Grady and Ron Oxenham defeated Roger Wall and Terry Dray 22-17. Mo Clare swinging lead, Wayne Rich and Rob Harvey defeated Mo Clare, Charlie Morley and Allen Manning.
The Singles Challenge was played by Allen Manning and Jason Cornish.
It was a very close game throughout with the final score being 31-28 Jason's way.
In the other game, Kevin Stanley defeated Rene Hannelly 31-28.
On Saturday the Wellington Boot Triples had 20 teams enter with players as far away as Melbourne.
The winning team was Noel Raines from Gilgandra. Frank Rowe's team from West Dubbo came in second and a local Kevin Stanley's team took out third place. We would like to thank the Soldiers Memorial Club for their support and sponsorship toward this event, it was greatly appreciated in what was a great day had by all those who attended.
