The Wellington Cowboys have scored a thrilling 34-30 win over Dubbo Westside in an official Group 11 rugby league pre season trial match at Kennard Park Friday night.

Wellington captain coach Justin Toomey White scored right on the full time whistle to give the Cowboys victory.
Keiran Brien opened scoring for Wellington after just 4 minutes, Norm West converting.
But then Josh Merritt sliced through a gap to make the sure the scores were locked, Swade Dunn making the extras.
A slippery sideline dash by Ethan Ryan set up a bustling Justin Toomey White not long before quarter time.
12-6 and full back Norm West was on the end of another Cowboys onslaught racing over and converting his good work to give Wellington the lead at the short break.
18-6 as the team ran out for the second twenty and Westside were back in the game right away when Corey Ashby went through, Dunn piloted the additional two and it was 18-12 but then in dramatic circumstances the lights went out at Kennard.
Officials fixed the malfunction with the lighting and after 20 minutes referee Simon Hartus decided to end the match with a 40 minute burst.
Eric Fernando got Westside off to a good opening but Wellington showed some wonderful skills for Justin Toomey White to snare his second.
The try of the match should have been that one but Tjapukai Shaw's high leap to take a flying football was brilliant and when the young flyer touched down Wellington were eight ahead.
But the visitors were finished with, EJ Fernando grabbed his second and then Swade Dunn stormed over running the length of the field and Villiame Turuva was also impressive outwide and Westside with 3 minutes left were ahead 30-28.
Thirty seconds left and Wellington were not giving up and Justin Toomey White busted defenders close to the line and scored with players hanging all over him. His third signals he was fit and full of class.
In the end a 34-30 victory but Westside happy with their workout.
In the Under 18's the Cowboys were highly impressive winning 36-nil over Dubbo Westside.
