Wellington combines with Cobar to go close in Nationals

Updated March 26 2015 - 4:29pm, first published 4:00pm

The last swim of the season attracted 12 members with Colin Sheridan the swimmer of the meet.

He won the 25-metre event at 0.06 outside his time, was second in the 50-metre event, and for the second week in a row, this time combining with Terry Dray, won the Brace Relay being spot on their time.

Andrew Hill continued his good form by winning the 50-metre event.

Presentation Night will be held on Tuesday April 7, 2015 commencing at 6pm at 148 Arthur Street. The usual Tuesday night fees will apply.

Representatives at the National AIF Carnival in Albury last weekend, Mill and Tippy, reported that the competition in their events was very strong and to secure a place in the final was very difficult.

However with the help of our eight good friends from Cobar, the club was able to finish second in the 10 x 50 metre Handicap Relay from a field of 20 teams.

Next year's National Championships will be held at the Commonwealth Games venue in Southport on Saturday - March 12, 2016.

The Hornsby Club will again be hosting the Queen's Legacy Cup Carnival on Sunday June 7 in Queanbeyan. Any member wishing to attend this carnival please notify Terry Dray or Neil Miller.
