When the crew of Selling Houses Australia arrived at Wellington to bring the house back to its former glory she said it was chaotic.
"I had 59 people here working from 7am to 7pm," she said.
"Things happened and I didn't see them happening. Whole rooms emptied and filled with new carpets."
LJ Hooker real estate agent Vivienne Wellington said the crew of Selling Houses had been taken aback by the beauty of Wellington, whether it came to its charming historic homes or the lovely people.
The historic home, Logiealmond, had interior designer Shaynna Blaze literally skipping for joy, while Andrew Winter, host of the popular Foxtel series, said it just was not the norm for Australians to have houses like those found at Wellington.
"We are absolutely huge fans of heritage homes because usually we do up houses from the 70s, 80s, 90s and modern houses," he said.
Ms Wellington said tonight Australia would see Wellington's beauty.
"This is a good news story for Wellington. So often we are referred to as things like 'little Antarctica' and a lot of things are published about this town, bad things, it is not very often we get something positive about Wellington, but the people from Selling Houses Australia thought it was a lovely town," she said.
"I've worked all over NSW and it's no different. What we do have that no other town has is the beauty, and not just of the town, but the people too."
She is expecting tonight's episode to showcase Wellington's community spirit after so many locals came along to help out, including the Men's Shed.
After years of trying to sell the home, Mrs Wilson was looking forward to downsizing. It was the perfect home with her late husband, Brandon Wilson, but these days it was too big and she had students board to make use of the space.
"We came for Brandon's work; he did a lot of government work and was contracted by the Tasmanian, Queensland and NSW governments to do speech writing among other things," she said.
"We took one look at Wellington and thought there is no way we are living in Dubbo."
The asking price is $410,000, but Mr Winter said in the city you could easily spend close to this price renovating it and expect it to go for $3 million.
"It has been hard because we haven't had a lot of people looking in this price range," Ms Wellington said.
"There is no comparison for this house... there is nothing quite as beautiful as this house which is steeped in history."
"The original owner, Murdoch McLeod, gifted it to the people of Wellington. So many people were born in this house, how do you compare the years of loveliness with another house?"
"It still has that loveliness in feeling, too," Mrs Wilson added.
"It is a very happy house. Some houses wrap themselves around you and say welcome and this house does that too. It says 'come in, enjoy it'."
Selling Houses Australia is on Foxtel's Lifestyle channel at 8.30pm tonight.
