Ever since she could talk, Lilah Wykes has always wanted to be on TV, carrying around her camcorder wherever she goes.
As one of just 25 finalists, parents Loren Wilson and Josh Wykes thought their daughter was already a winner when her Instagram photos were selected, but in the end it was her natural, on-camera presence that set her apart from the rest.
She has now won a 12-month modelling contract for Bump Models and is the face of new international clothing line Tito Tito.
She has also won a photo shoot worth $750 which will take place later this month.
"We always thought she was beautiful, but this is proof that other people think so too," proud grandparents Vicki Spratt and Garry Wilson said.
Her great grandfather Lloyd Spratt said the whole family was incredibly proud.
"It could have gone to anyone, but in the end it was someone from Wellington," he said.
"It just goes to show that these things do happen."
Lilah is also the grand daughter of popular locals Kelvin and Helen Wykes.
