To celebrate the life of Kevin (bubbles) Burke, an annual bike ride has been held for the past seven years. This year's ride was organised by Don and Christine Graham, and saw a record number of bikes lined up at McDonald's Wellington last Friday morning to start the ride that took them through some beautiful country in the Abercrombie area to spend the first night at Bowral. Some of the riders and pillion passengers were a little saddle saw but this didn't stop about 40 people from enjoying a celebratory dinner with lots of, camaraderie. Bubbles' wife, Jenny, was there to respond to a toast by Don Graham.

Mr Graham said the ride was all about friendship and the love of life that we all share. He thanked everybody for joining in this wonderful event that celebrates a life of an all-round good bloke.
On Saturday the bike riders and their pillion passengers took great advantage of the bendy roads that go up and down the escarpment between Bowral and Nowra and then gathering in the Kangaroo Valley for a look around.
The group then rode to Batemans Bay where a seafood lunch was enjoyed. Then it was time to tackle the Clyde Mountain to arrive in Bungendore in time for dinner. The Chinese banquet at the Royal Hotel was very much enjoyed with friendship and tall tales the order of the night. Sunday morning provided another beautiful day as we headed the Crookwell where some of the riders departed for other locations. The rest the group travelled via Wyangala to Canowindra for lunch before travelling home. The riders came from Wellington, Dubbo, Parks, Sydney and Bowral and rode more than 1000km without incident. We are all looking for the next year's ride.
