Morgan O'Rourke was the star attraction. There to shave all her hair off for Leukaemia in memory of her much-loved uncle Murray who passed away because of the disease on February 26, 2014.
Her father David, known to his mates as Chook, cut her pigtails and then Tracey Parker from Tracey's Cutting Cottage did the rest.
The teenager's friends overwhelmed her with support shouting 'Go Morgan, Go Morgan!!'.
Wellington High School principal Don Harvey said it was wonderful moment.
"You are doing a fantastic thing," he said. "The school event raised $1200."
Emma Fleming from the Cancer Council in the central west said Morgan was very brave as she congratulated her for raising $6700 so far.
"Thirty-one people are diagnosed with Leukaemia-related diseases every week. More than breast cancer and melanoma. Three million dollars is spent in research every year and $9 million on patient support. Events like today, along with the World's Greatest Shave, have raised $14.6 million and more than half of that is by individuals," Ms Fleming said.
Roslyn O'Rourke said the community had been wonderful and thanked people for supporting her daughter and Leukaemia.
"Everyone who came here and donated, thank you," she said. "We had uncle Murray for 11 years, the next family may have their loved ones for 15 to 20 years or more. Thank you so much."
Morgan's friends said she looked great.
"You know what it quite suits you," one said.
Morgan said it wasn't the end of her fundraising efforts and she thanked those who had been part of her journey.
