It was one of more than 1500 community projects across NSW in 2014 announced by Premier Mike Baird.
Wellington Junior Soccer registrar Allan Nicholson and Wellington Cricket secretary Marie Cornish said the venue attracted thousands of children for carnivals and that it was in desperate need of concreting. This would allow families to come and watch the games in some comfort.
"It's our primary ground and we are getting lights with the support of Cobbora Holding so we will also be able to also have night cricket," Ms Cornish said
