A new training program developed by the Rural Adversity Mental Health Program will help get rural and remote communities started.
The Lions Club of Wellington and the Rural Adversity Mental Health Program (RAMHP) have teamed up to deliver the program in Wellington this Friday the 20th February.
“Life can be tough, and there are times when we all need a hand , …. the effects of people not reaching out can be tragic”, says Di Gill from RAMHP.
“If you’re concerned about a family member, friend or even you come along to the Wellington Soldiers Memorial Club at 7pm and have a yarn”.
RAMHP Coordinators Di Gill from Canowindra and Camilla Kenny from Dubbo will be talking to the Wellington community about how to get help for people experiencing distress.
“We can help people know what to look for, and how to start the conversation to either get help or encourage other to do so”, says Camilla Kenny.
RAMHP is there to support rural individuals and communities protect and promote their own wellbeing in the face of adversity, and ensure they are linked to the help they need.
The RAMHP ‘when and how to get help’ session to be held at:
Wellington Soldiers Memorial Club Cnr of Swift and Arthurs Street Wellington on Friday from 7pm.
